China: Japanese University Students Visit the Matsushita Memorial Hall in Beijing

The China & Northeast Asia Company (CNA) accepts visits by students from Japan and gives lectures to Chinese university students for better mutual understanding between the youth of China and Japan who leads the next generation to build friendly relations.


Visit by student groups from several Japanese universities (July 30)

中国1.pngA party of 60 students from about ten universities in Japan visited the Matsushita Memorial Hall in Beijing, China, on July 30. Takayuki Nishi, CNA's CHRO, talked about his own experiences in his welcoming speech to them. "Understanding China is essential to doing business in China and anywhere in the world. Personally experiencing this country is especially important."

Professor Masaki Ienaga of Tokyo Woman's Christian University and representatives of the students then gave their speeches. During their visit to the hall, the students learned about the management philosophy of our founder Konosuke Matsushita and the nature of Panasonic's business operations. In the reception after the visit the students asked many questions about China, such as the demographics of its consumers and difficulties with developing the hydrogen energy business in this country. Masato Nakamura, advisor to CNA, and Yin Xiao Wei, curator of the hall, carefully answered these questions.


Visit by students from Soka University (September 6)

A party of around 100 students from Soka University visited the Matsushita Memorial Hall on September 6. This visit was realized in cooperation with the Japan-China Friendship Association.

It started with a video message from Executive Vice President Tetsuro Homma, Panasonic Group Regional Head for China & Northeast Asia, describing the history of relations between Japan and China and differences between the two countries.

General Manager Xu Haibo of CNA's Government and External Relations Division introduced Panasonic's business operations in China, after which the students went through the hall.

During the question-and-answer session the students asked how Panasonic employees engage in self-development and how conflicts between developing business overseas and company profits are dealt with. Masato Nakamura, advisor to CNA, answered these questions and talked with the students.

Special lecture by Homma at Beijing Foreign Studies University (October 21)

Executive Vice President Tetsuro Homma, Panasonic Group Regional Head for China & Northeast Asia, gave a lecture themed on becoming a bridge between China and Japan--Panasonic's Management Philosophy and My Practices at Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU) on October 21. It was attended by around 300 students from the School of Japanese and International Studies and the Beijing Center for Japanese Studies.

After the lecture, CNA donated funds to purchase first edition Japanese books to the Beijing Center for Japanese Studies of BFSU.

This will help the students to learn more Japanese and about Japanese culture and contribute to the university's educational and research activities. In appreciation of this support, Director Zhou Yifu of the School of Japanese and International Studies, presented a letter of thanks to Homma.
