Panasonic Conducts Activities in Samut Prakan Schools to Promote Urban Waste Reduction
The Panasonic Group in Thailand recently organized a team to visit Samut Prakan Province for the "Together with Panasonic: Separate Waste for a Cleaner Community" activity under the "Panasonic Cares" initiative. This campaign aims to raise awareness of urban waste overflow and promote proper waste management among young people to foster a sustainable environment. As part of this effort, the team provided waste separation bins and energy-saving Panasonic LED light bulbs to local schools in the province.
Together with Panasonic: Separate Waste for a Cleaner Community, an activity under the ongoing "Panasonic Cares" initiative led by the Panasonic Group in Thailand, is currently in its second year. The campaign adopts the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) across various dimensions, including Good Health & Well-Being, Quality Education, Life on Land, No Poverty, and Responsible Consumption and Production. It aims to foster sustainable well-being and mitigate the destruction of natural resources, aligning with Panasonic's Green Impact, the global environmental vision of the Panasonic Group. This initiative strives to reduce carbon dioxide emissions across the value chain and deliver recycling-oriented products to customers to minimize the issue of non-biodegradable waste by 2030.
This year's activity aims to improve the quality of life, health, and well-being of communities, with a focus on reducing pollution from urban waste overflow. As part of this effort, sets of waste separation bins are being distributed to schools and communities nationwide, especially in areas where Panasonic's factories are located, to encourage students in proper waste management and create a more livable environment. The campaign kicked off in Khon Kaen Province in July this year.
