Japan: Internal Briefing Held for the FY2024 Pro Bono Program
On May 15 an in-company information session was held for employees taking part in the FY2024 Panasonic NPO/NGO Support Pro Bono Program, with 99 attending. A further small-group information session was held on May 22 during lunchtime to allow those with experience of the program to share their experiences directly.
The Pro Bono Program is a volunteer activity utilizing the business skills and experiences of employees. Since Panasonic started it in 2011, 392 employees have provided help to 66 organizations in 70 projects.
This fiscal year support will be given to the five NPOs stated below. Employee volunteers will form teams to cooperate with four of the NPOs over half a year from July to December, while also taking part in primarily online support activities at the request of the NPOs such as managing donations and creating business plans. Volunteers are also sought for the One-Day Challenge Pro Bono* to be held in-person this fiscal year, broadening the scope of the program by incorporating this easy form of participation including a visit an actual organization.
* A month's worth of preparatory activity is expected in addition to the one-day in-person visit
