Global: Progress Report on Panasonic ECO RELAY's World Action 2024
World Action 2024 started on June 5, which is the World Environment Day. This is a corporate citizenship activity intended to bring together each of our 230,000 employees worldwide to be aware of their everyday actions and change them to help solve global environmental problems. The goal is to plant up to a maximum of 1,000 trees according to the number of eco actions gathered from employees during the period of the activity. The aim is to take advantage of our economy of scale through all our employees working as a team for the Group towards the same goal.
As of July 10 the number of eco actions gathered worldwide is 15,000. In addition, 51 people from 10 countries have posted on the Eco Runner section of the special website to present their own eco actions. We have gathered many eco ideas for daily life from around the world, such as cycling to work or using personalized drink bottle and reusable shopping bags.
There are also lots of powerful messages explaining enjoyable steps people have taken: "Taking part in a clean-up activity helps keep the area tidy and leaves you with a good feeling"; "Let's change our habits and change the world!"; "Let's give back to the planet together"; "Over the last few years we've tried to reduce the amount of plastic we use as far as possible ... there's no going back to how we used to live."
World Action 2024 will run to August 30. It's easy to take part. Visit the special website and click on the button for the region where you live. If you're not sure what to start from or think you don't have time because you are too busy, check the Daily Action List we posted on the special website describing eco actions you can work into your daily life to start making a difference.
Your eco actions will lead to more trees being planted. With "One eco action and one click a day!" as our slogan, let's all join together as members of Panasonic to cooperate to change the planet. We're looking forward to your participation.
