Panasonic Industrial Devices Philippines Corporation (PIDPH) conducted a community clean-up drive on March 9 in the village of Casile (Cabuyao City, Laguna Province), which neighbors Calamba City, where the company is located. The clean-up drive is part of PIDPH's corporate social responsibility, and was the last such event for the fiscal year. Many PIDPH employees joined in, including President Yamashita and several other executives and managers.

Local volunteers joined the event under the cooperation of the head of the village. They separated into groups to clean up fallen leaves, plastic, and litter on the roads. The event ended earlier than expected, thanks to the large turnout and the efficient method of working in groups.

A local resident said "No other company has done a voluntary activity like this. It was simple but valuable. I appreciate what they did."

After the event PIDPH donated the cleaning tools used to the local community. Though the PIDPH volunteers were sweaty and tired out, they never stopped smiling. For them keeping the local region clean is an enjoyable and fulfilling task that is simple in nature yet allows them to feel they are contributing to the community. As members of Panasonic, they also have the honor if they could form positive memories among the residents as the company that cleaned up the area where they live. PIDPH will continue activities like these to contribute to the local community.
