North America: 5th Month of Service Held
Panasonic Corporation of North America (PNA) held its annual Month of Service in September in collaboration with Panasonic Group companies in North America. This year, which is the fifth time for this event, 837 employees from ten companies took part in a wide variety of activities.
This volunteer program for employees in North America began in August 2017. Up to five working days per year can be used for volunteer work. The Month of Service is held in September to mark the September 11 National Day of Service.
Here we present two of the volunteer efforts employees engaged in. More than two dozen employee volunteers visited Nelson Mandela Elementary School on September 12 to support teachers and staff in organizing supplies, setting up lounges, and creating affirmation bulletin boards for the upcoming school year.

On the same day, 32 HR employee volunteers assembled Happy Hope Bags® for the Happy Hope Foundation for hospitalized children with special needs or chronic and life-threatening illnesses.
Bags included goodies (coloring books, playing cards, and other toys and stationery) and personalized cards from Panasonic employees, so that the children can better enjoy their time in hospital. The Happy Hope Foundation has given a total of about 600,000 Happy Hope Bags® to hospitalized children in the United States since 2011.

Reports and messages from employees who took part in this volunteer work were shared with many people through official social media of PNA (X, LinkedIn, Instagram) under the #PanasonicCares and #MonthofService hashtags.
