KWN and Fukushima "Reconstruction" Support Action Collaboration Event
On August 22 Panasonic Holding Headquarters held a Fukushima "Reconstruction" Support Action event to promote the consumption of food from Fukushima. The corporate cafeteria served dishes supporting the recovery of Fukushima, and a Fukushima market was held to sell goods from the prefecture.
Four students from Chuodai Minami Junior High School (Iwaki City, Fukushima Prefecture), which is part of the Kid Witness News (KWN) video production learning support program, took part to report on the event. They interviewed Mr. Kusumi, other employees, and people involved with the action, then summarized people's thoughts about it in a video to be released as a Kid's Report.
"It was a good chance to learn more about Fukushima" commented one of the KWN students. Another added "We're junior high school students who were born after the earthquake. Instead of receiving aid, we want to find something we can do to help Fukushima as our hometown."
The PEX Corporate Citizenship Department will continue to encourage employees to change their consumption habits through the Fukushima "Reconstruction" Support Action and by expanding our activities to the public, we will contribute to recovery from the earthquake and achieving the Goal 11 of SDGs : Sustainable Cities and Communities.
