Panasonic lanterns and LIGHT UP THE FUTURE (LUTF) through renewable energy initiative were highlighted at the G7 Hiroshima Summit held from May 19 to 21.

The LUTF initiative was also introduced as part of Japan's public relations activities for COP26 (the 26th United Nations Climate Change Conference) in 2021.

Introducing it at the G7 was at the request of the government of Japan to show an example of the efforts of Japanese companies through the public relations sector.

The venue where the lanterns and LUTF were exhibited was the International Media Center established during the summit by the International Press Office of the Prime Minister's Office of Japan.
Domestic and international media came to the booth to see the exhibits. Approximately 1,400 primary and secondary school students in Hiroshima also came to the venue for the post-G7 summit tours held from May 24 to 26.
