FY2022 Panasonic Scholarship Asia Award Ceremonies Completed
Panasonic Scholarship Asia is a locally-oriented next-generation development program that provides scholarships to students of universities and vocational training schools across all of Asia, and encourages them to maintain connections with each other after they graduate. The FY2022 award ceremonies for this program have been completed, with 131 students from nine countries and regions receiving scholarships. Three were from Cambodia, 18 from China, 30 from India, 22 from Indonesia, 5 from Malaysia, 13 from the Philippines, 10 from Taiwan, 10 from Thailand, and 20 from Vietnam. A total of 928 students have received scholarships since the start of the program in 2014. Since FY2020 the COVID-19 pandemic meant that the award ceremonies were postponed or held on online, but in FY2022 they were held for the first time in three years in many countries and regions.

Award ceremony in India
Panasonic Life Solutions India Pvt., Ltd. held its 8th award ceremony for the Panasonic Scholarship Asia on March 11, 2023.
There were 1,964 entries nationwide for the program, from which 30 students were chosen through a rigorous selection process. Attending the ceremony were President Manish Sharma, Managing Director Tadashi Chiba, and other staff, joined by guests Sanjeev Sanghi, Professor and Head of the Applied Mechanics Department at the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, and Amitabh Kant, G20 Sherpa (personal aide to the summit leaders).
Guest Amitabh Kant commented that "We hope that the youth who support our country will participate in this scholarship program to learn knowledge and skills they will use to create innovation in the future. This wonderful program will lead to the greater development of India."
Award ceremony in China
Panasonic Group companies in China held their award ceremony for the Panasonic Scholarship Asia on April 18 at the Matsushita Memorial Hall in Beijing. It was attended by Li Xikui, vice president of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and secretary general of the China Friendship Foundation for Peace and Development, President Homma, and faculty of the universities where the selected students are studying at.
Eighteen students from Peking University, Tsinghua University, and Fudan University were selected as the recipients of the FY2022 Panasonic Scholarship Asia. One of the students spoke on behalf of the others to give this statement of commitment: "We will strive ever harder in our studies, dedicating ourselves tirelessly to helping to build better relations between Japan and China." After the ceremony all the participants visited the Matsushita Memorial Hall to learn more about the management philosophy and history of the Panasonic Group over its more than 100 years, and about the life of our founder, Konosuke Matsushita.
The students selected for the Panasonic Scholarship Asia will diligently study toward a bright future of hope, to contribute to global development.
