Japan: Donation of Partial Sales of PHS Airylight: Nonflammable Lightweight Ceiling Material
Architecture Systems Business Division, Panasonic Housing Solutions Co., Ltd. (PHS) donated part of the proceeds of sales of Airylight, a nonflammable lightweight ceiling material, to disaster-stricken areas via the Central Community Chest of Japan on March 1. The donated funds will be allocated to activities for recovery and aid work by volunteer groups and NPOs in disaster-stricken areas through the Central Community Chest of Japan's Disaster Relief Volunteer & NPO Support Fund.
Airyligh is the lightest ceiling material in the industry*1 at 560 grams per square meter.
It lightens ceiling weight to heighten the safety of buildings when earthquakes happen. Amid rising concern with disaster preparedness, it has been used in non-housing facilities like local government facilities and educational institutions in Japan since December 2020.
PHS will continue to contribute to society through products like Airylight.
*1 For board-type ceiling material in Japan as of March 2023. According to research by PHS.
