Matched Employee and Company Donation for the Situation in Ukraine

The Panasonic Group made its second donation* for the situation in Ukraine of approximately 20million yen (USD 150,000) to the NPO Peace Winds Japan (PWJ) as humanitarian aid.
From April to June last year, the donation from 1,768 employees amounted to 10,726,100 yen(USD 800,000) as humanitarian aid for Ukraine through the Cafeteria Points social welfare system. The company matched the concern of its employees with 10 million yen (USD 75,000) to donate a total of approximately 20 million yen to PWJ.
PWJ will use the donation from the employees to provide warm food and cold weather clothing to refugee camps facing increasingly harsh cold in the neighboring country, Moldova, and to support people forced to live as refugees long term. The donation from the company will supply generators to hospitals and refugee camps in Ukraine facing severe power outages, to be widely used by the people there.
In addition to the monetary donations, the Panasonic Group has also gifted approximately 2,000 of Panasonic LED lanterns to provide light during the blackouts, and Panasonic Energy Co., Ltd. has also gifted 8,000 AA interchangeable batteries.
We continue to hope that the world can return to peace as early as possible and will continue to carefully watch the situation.

*Last March, as an emergency measure for the situation in Ukraine, the company donated a total of approximately 20 million yen (USD 150,000) to the Polish Red Cross for refugees in the neighboring country, Poland, and to NPO Peace Winds Japan for aid to those in Ukraine itself.
