Workshops and International Exchange Events Held in Preparation for the KWN Global Contest 2026
Kid Witness News (KWN) is a global educational support program implemented by the Panasonic Group to foster children's creativity, communication skills, and teamwork through video production. In preparation for the KWN Global Contest to be held from September, Group companies in various countries are conducting a range of activities for participating schools, including workshops and international exchange events. This article highlights initiatives in Vietnam and Japan.
◆Vietnam: Kids Report Program Held at Factories for Participating Schools

On June 16 and 30, Panasonic Vietnam held the KWN Kids Report program for students from KWN participating schools, providing them with the opportunity to create news-style videos report through on-site interviews and coverage.
The children visited the Panasonic System Networks Vietnam (PSNV) LUMIX factory, the HVAC Innovation Center of Panasonic Sales Vietnam, and the Panasonic Electric Works Vietnam (PEWVN) IAQ (Indoor Air Quality)factory, where they observed manufacturing operations and interviewed employees at the factories, along with Panasonic Vietnam executives.
These visits broadened their understanding of Panasonic's businesses, products, and sustainability initiatives, while strengthening video skills and linking classroom learning to the real world and cultivating future Panasonic supporters.
◆Japan: Video Production Workshops Using the LUMIX App
In Japan, video production workshops were held in collaboration with the LUMIX team. The workshops used "LUMIX Flow," a video production app offered by LUMIX that makes video creation easy for anyone.
Starting with the workshop at the Elementary School Attached to University of Tsukuba on July 3, workshops were also held at junior high and high schools, with approximately 60 students experiencing video production using the app.
One participating student commented, "When I came up with an idea, I was able to act on it right away, and the app also helped me avoid missing shots, so I would like to use it again."
The LUMIX team also noted, "Using LUMIX Flow in educational settings is a meaningful initiative that not only helps raise awareness of the LUMIX brand, but also further enhances the educational value of KWN by fostering children's creativity and expressive abilities. We saw significant potential for LUMIX Flow as an educational tool."
For KWN participating schools across Japan that were unable to join this time, YouTube livestreaming and online Q&A sessions are also planned. Through these efforts, the LUMIX team aims to broaden the use of the app in the future.

◆Connecting Through Video: Children from Vietnam and Japan Take Part in an International Exchange

On July 2, representative teams from Vietnam and Japan were connected online for an international exchange event. The participants deepened their interaction through quizzes about each other's cultures and gesture games related to video production. The event concluded with a lively question-and-answer session designed to promote mutual understanding.
A teacher from one of the participating schools expressed appreciation, saying, "Although we had some concerns about the language aspect, the students were able to have an enjoyable time, and it became a valuable experience for them."
