USA: Earth Month 2026 Initiatives

Panasonic North America (PNA) designates April as "Earth Month," with special recognition of Earth Day on April 22--a time to reflect on past efforts and take action with renewed commitment.
As part of this initiative, PNA once again hosted the "Pathways to Sustainability" event to enhance employee awareness of Panasonic GREEN IMPACT (PGI). Nearly 100 participants attended remotely. Poll results assessing familiarity with PGI during the event indicated participants' understanding has steadily improved over the past year. An external speaker from Brown University, which has a research partnership with Panasonic Energy, discussed the potential of batteries in advancing sustainability. Internal speakers also showcased PGI-driven business activities and strategies, helping employees connect PGI more closely to their daily work.
As a tangible employee action, PNA, in collaboration with the City of Newark, organized an e-waste collection event. Approximately 7,887 pounds (3,577 kg) of used electronic equipment--including TVs, PCs, and small appliances--were collected, contributing to resource circulation and reducing environmental impact.
In addition, from late March through April, PNA implemented ongoing internal communication initiatives, including updates via Viva Engage and internal emails, as well as PGI-related e-learning content. These efforts encouraged behavioral change, empowering individuals to take action.
Through these Earth Month initiatives, PNA is accelerating its efforts toward a sustainable society by integrating business-driven environmental solutions with contributions to local communities and employee engagement.
