Thailand & Philippines: Donation of Panasonic Energy Solar Lanterns with Employees Support

As part of the "LIGHT UP THE FUTURE" Project for off-grid areas, Panasonic has delivered more than 120,000 Panasonic Energy solar lanterns to 36 countries in collaboration with various NGOs, NPOs, and international organizations.
Through local support programs, we aim to contribute to a sustainable society free from poverty by creating opportunities for education, health, and increased income.
In fiscal year 2025, we plan to donate approximately 2,500 solar lanterns to countries including Nepal, Afghanistan, Kenya, Thailand, the Philippines, India, Cambodia, and Vietnam. This report highlights the donation ceremonies in Thailand and the Philippines. Notably, part of the funding for these donations was sourced through employee cooperation. Employees' contributions through our "Cafeteria Points" welfare program, along with their participation in the social contribution survey, directly led to additional lantern donations. In total, over 60,000 employees participated globally. We deeply appreciate everyone's cooperation.
Thailand: Solar Lanterns Donation to Children in Northern Mountainous Areas
On December 24, 2025, as part of its CSR activity "Panasonic Cares," Panasonic Solutions Thailand (PSTH) in collaboration with Niyom Group--a major local distributor--and with guidance from the Thai Ministry of Education, donated 50 solar lanterns to a primary school located in the mountainous area of Chiang Mai in northern Thailand. Many students live far from the school and stay in dormitories without electricity, together with their teachers.
However, insufficient lighting at night had posed challenges both for safety and for creating an adequate learning environment. The donation is expected to improve both living and learning conditions by enhancing safety during after dark movements and enabling study opportunities after school and at night. At the ceremony, PSTH employees and Niyom Group also provided clothing, food, and stationery, bringing joy to the children. Another donation of 50 lanterns is planned for a different region in Thailand.

Philippines: Solar Lanterns Donation to Residents of Off-Grid Fishing Villages
On January 10, 2026, Panasonic Manufacturing Philippines, in collaboration with a local NGO, donated 100 solar lanterns to residents of an off-grid fishing village in Batangas Province in the southern part of Luzon Island. The area is not connected to the national power grid, making nighttime illumination difficult. This donation is expected to enable fishing activities after sunset, increasing income opportunities, as well as allowing children to study at home during the evenings. Additionally, further donations of 200 lanterns to two more regions in the Philippines are planned.

In March, donation ceremonies are also scheduled in Cambodia and Vietnam, with a portion of funding sourced from employee social contribution survey.
