Kid Witness News (KWN) Local Contests Held Worldwide Ahead of Global Summit 2025
Panasonic Group's "Kid Witness News (KWN)" is a global educational support program with the aim of developing children's creativity, communication skills, and teamwork through video production.
Local group companies are responsible for recruiting schools, organizing workshops, and hosting local contests in each country.
In August, local contests were held in Vietnam, Malaysia, and India, where each country selected its representative works (one from the primary category for elementary school students and one from the secondary category for middle and high-school students) for the Global Summit scheduled for Saturday, October 25.
Vietnam (Organized by Panasonic Vietnam)
The contest in Vietnam, held on August 9, brought together approximately 200 participants, including students, teachers, and parents. Works themed around human relationships and communication were selected as the grand prize winners. The event featured panel discussions with video instructors, teachers, students, and parents, as well as performances by children in singing and dancing, creating a lively atmosphere.

Malaysia (Organized by Panasonic Management Malaysia)
Held on August 19, the Malaysia contest welcomed not only students, teachers, and parents, but also guests such as representatives from the Ministry of Education and Professors from the Faculty of Communication & Media Studies at Universiti Teknologi MARA, along with media journalists. Among the six participating schools, works themed on food and health were selected as the grand prize in both the primary and secondary categories.

India (Organized by Panasonic Life Solutions India)
India's contest took place on August 25. Two works were selected as the grand prize winners--one themed around climate change and the other focused on water pollution. One participating teacher remarked, "By joining KWN, students have gained deeper knowledge and awareness about the SDGs." The event highlighted how video production enabled children to tackle social and environmental issues from their unique perspectives.

Panasonic hosts an annual Global Summit, offering a platform for representative students from each country to interact across borders and celebrate each other's video works.
This year's Global Summit will welcome participants from 11 countries: Brazil, Cambodia, China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Philippines, United Arab Emirates, United States of America, Vietnam.
It will be held online on Saturday, October 25, from 21:00 to 22:30 (Japan Standard Time), and will also be livestreamed to the public. Voting is now open for the "KWN Fans Award," where the public can select their favorite works (voting accepted until October 23).
