Jakarta, July 26, 2025 -- PT Panasonic Gobel Indonesia is once again hosting Kids Witness News (KWN) 2025. This global program by Panasonic Corporation encourages children aged 10-15 to express social concerns through video. This year, PT Panasonic Gobel Indonesia has teamed up with the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design (FSRD) at Universitas Trisakti to deliver a thorough and practical videography workshop for students.

As part of Panasonic's long-term dedication to supporting education and fostering youth creativity, the company held intensive workshops on July 19, 25, and 26, 2025. Four schools from the Greater Jakarta area participated:

  • SD Al Azhar Syifa Budi - Cibubur
  • SDS Citta Bangsa - Bekasi
  • SMP Labschool - Cibubur
  • SMP Negeri 179 - East Jakarta

Through this training, students learned not only production techniques like storyboarding, lighting, and camera work, but also developed narratives that highlight social and environmental issues. The themes chosen align with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in education and environmental awareness.

"Through KWN, Panasonic wants to inspire children to speak up, understand the issues around them, and convey their ideas creatively using technology. This program is part of our long-term commitment to boosting digital literacy and character education for Indonesia's young generation, so they can grow into caring, confident individuals ready for the future," said Arif Gobel, Director of PT Panasonic Gobel Indonesia.

With guidance from instructors in the Visual Communication Design program at FSRD USAKTI, participants experienced hands-on learning, just like a professional production team. They were free to explore various roles, from director and scriptwriter to cameraman and actor, while creating a 4-5 minute video.

All videos were produced using Panasonic LUMIX cameras, giving students direct experience with high-quality professional equipment. An independent panel of judges will evaluate all the work, and the best team will be announced in mid-August 2025. The winners will represent Indonesia in the KWN Global Contest 2025 international event, joining students from various countries within the Panasonic network.

This year, Panasonic also received technical support from LUMIX partners -- Saramonic for audio equipment and Amaran for lighting systems -- further enhancing the production experience during the workshop.

In the spirit of Panasonic: Live Your Best, KWN 2025 is the company's significant contribution to shaping a young generation that is creative, empathetic, and empowered, ready to face the future through the power of visual communication.
