USA: Panasonic North America's Earth Month Initiatives

April 22 marks Earth Day, a global moment to reflect on environmental responsibility. Panasonic Corporation of North America (PNA) extends this spirit throughout the month of April--designated as Earth Month--by hosting a variety of events and sustainability-focused activities to raise environmental awareness.
◆Key Initiatives in Fiscal Year 2025
Pathways to Sustainability Panel
On April 15, we hosted the panel discussion aimed at deepening internal understanding of our long-term environmental vision, Panasonic GREEN IMPACT (PGI).
The event featured guest speaker Mrs. Sherwood from the National Institute of Aerospace, alongside PNA employees actively advancing carbon neutrality and circular economy initiatives through real-world products and technologies. Approximately 80 employees joined both in person and online, gaining valuable insights into PGI's goals and impact.
Week Without a Paper Cup Challenge (April 22-29)
To avoid using paper cups, employees were given a Panasonic mug for coffee, tea or water while in the office for one week starting on Earth Day.
Cleanup at Newark NJ's Branch Brook Park
Continuing our annual tradition, 50 PNA employees volunteered to clean up Branch Brook Park in Newark. This hands-on activity reinforced the importance of environmental conservation while contributing to the beautification of our local community.
Distribution of Junior Gardening Kits for Environmental Education
PNA assembled and distributed educational gardening kits--complete with learning materials on plants and tools--to children in Newark.
Creating Earth Day Kind Kits
150 employees participated in assembling Earth Day kits containing items like a bee house and butterfly feeder to support local wildlife. Every kit included a $1 donation with additional voluntary contributions collected to the environmental nonprofit organization, One Tree Planted.
E-Waste Recycling Event
On April 29, PNA partnered with the City of Newark to host the e-waste recycling event. The initiative successfully collected 3,650 pounds (approximately 1,655 kg) of electronic waste, including TVs, computers, printers, phones, and small household appliances.
