River Cleanup Initiative in the Yodo River Basin
On May 11, 69 employees from our group participated in a community cleanup event at the Yodogawa Riverside Park, Hirakata Area (Osaka Prefecture).
The event, titled "Hirakata Nature-Friendly Pond Area Beautification Action", offered two participation options tailored to different activity levels: the relaxed course ,which allowed participants to enjoy the natural surroundings at a gentle pace, and the more intensive course, which focused on areas with heavy debris accumulation.

Over the course of an hour, participants collected 715 liters of combustible waste, 100 liters of non-combustible waste,approximately 400 plastic bottles and larger items such as tires, fluorescent lamps, and even a motorcycle seat.
The participants commented such as "I was surprised by how much litter had accumulated in a river so close to home," "This cleanup activity really contributed to my sense of well-being," and "Next time, I'd like to invite my colleagues to join."
This initiative is part of our ongoing ECO RELAY program, which will continue to support volunteer environmental activities in the Yodo River basin.
