On February 7, the Panasonic Education Foundation held an award ceremony for the FY2024 Nurturing the Heart Activity for Children.
The event was attended by 46 people, including award recipients, Mr. Hirano, director of social education promotion, Education Policy Bureau, Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, and members of the Forum for Nurturing the Spirit (Chairperson Mr. Washida and others).
This year, a record 214 applications were received from across the country, and six awards were selected: one nationwide top award, four excellence awards, and one special award.
The nationwide top award was given to the Hairdresser Exchange Association and the Hairdresser Volunteer Group "One Step" in Chiba Prefecture. They volunteer to cut hair at children's homes.
They were highly praised for not only grooming the children's hair but also building trust with the children, providing opportunities for them to open up and work on their emotional well-being utilizing their communication skills as hairdressers.
At the networking event following the award ceremony, forum members and award recipients deepened their mutual friendships.
