PT Panasonic Industrial Devices Batam (PIDSG-BT) collaborated with an association of students from vocational and technical schools in Batam called HMM* to install and donate 12 solar panel systems for public street lights on Jemara Island, located in the Riau Islands in the west of Indonesia. PIDSG-BT did this as part of the Bina Desa Programme** to support the development of rural areas and improve the lives of local communities.

Efforts with HMM to support the development of this island began in 2023. In 2023 ten solar panels for public street lights and one water pump were installed to provide stable power and hygienic water for the island's residents. Students of HMM assembled the solar panel systems, making it an opportunity for them to hone their practical skills.

PIDSG-BT intends to contribute to the development of local communities through business and CSR activities such as these.
