Global: World Action 2024 560 Trees Planted
The Corporate Citizenship Activities Sector held an event called World Action 2024 for Panasonic Group employees worldwide to engage as a team in environmental conservation activities from June to August 2024. Many employees from 35 countries and regions have taken part, bringing the number of eco actions to 56,022. To fulfill our initial promise to plant one tree for every hundred actions, we started the planting of 560 trees in Tanzania, Madagascar, Ghana, and Colombia through the Treedom platform.* Planting tree types expected to reduce CO2 and aid biodiversity recovery and other types for cash crops such as coffee and avocados is expected to contribute to the environment and support employment of local people.
This is the fifth time for Panasonic to use Treedom to plant trees, following the Sustainable Management Promotion Consortium and Panasonic Europe. We chose this platform because it allows us to plant trees in remote regions that require aid and lets us check from anywhere in the world via the website data on the planting region, the growth of the trees, and the amount of CO2 they have reduced.
The Corporate Citizenship Activities Sector will continue to encourage environmental conservation activities by employees in various regions while applying broadly the knowhow and networks built via World Action 2024 to contribute to nature positive projects and solving global environmental problems.
