The FY2024 board of directors meeting of Panasonic ECO RELAY JAPAN was held on June 6. ECO RELAY JAPAN is organized by the company, labor union, and former employee association. It engages in environmental conservation activities in partnership with various related organizations in different regions. The PEX Corporate Citizenship Department serves as its secretariat. The meeting covered changes to its structure involving its directors and steering committee, such as the appointment of PEX's CHRO Tadashi Nakamura as a deputy director, and decided on resolutions relating to activities in FY2024.
Panasonic ECO RELAY JAPAN's policy this fiscal year is to expand the scope of activities that employees can participate in and to strengthen initiatives relating to biodiversity conservation. Furthermore, at Unitopia Sasayama (Tamba-Sasayama City), a facility owned by the Panasonic Group Workers Unions Association, it will engage in a satoyama (a seminatural area coexisting with nearby populated areas) revitalization project to faithfully restore the original satoyama and to regularly thin the trees, manage the terraced fields, and enhance the biotope to aim at cyclical use. The goal is to encourage collaboration with the neighborhood association and communities and to create a recycling-oriented society.
