Hussmann Fund-raising Campaign Held to Celebrate 100th Anniversary of Local NPO
In October 2022 Hussmann, a subsidiary of Panasonic Corporation's Cold Chain Solutions Company, held a United Way Campaign month to raise funds to donate to its local NPO United Way of Greater St. Louis, which is celebrating its 100th anniversary. Hussmann has been supporting this NPO for over 50 years. The campaign raised $97,700 from employees, more than achieving the target of $85,000. The company matched the wishes of its employees with a further $2,300 to bring the total donation to the NPO to $100,000.
Hussmann values the spirit of stewardship (acting responsibly in a sincere and trustworthy way) as part of its employee conduct guidelines, and encourages volunteer work under its Stewardship Time Off program that allows employees to take time off to work as volunteers for NPOs they are interested in.
In line with this each year, several employees take the initiative to go around workers in offices and factories to call for donations, providing support to the United Way of Greater St. Louis for many years. The NPO provides necessities like food, shelter, and means of transportation to people in need, with long-term support in the form of youth programs, education, job training, and counseling. It plays an important role in the local community of St. Louis where Hussmann's Head Office is located.
At the kick-off event for the campaign month, Hussmann's President Tim Figge gave a speech on the organization's mission and impact on the community and encouraged employees to participate in the campaign through various games, such as bingo, to raise money for the cause.
Hussmann will continue to practice volunteer activities rooted in the local community under its spirit of stewardship.
