10.01.2016 Panasonic IMPULSE vs Fujitsu Frontiers - Game Review

Due to the new schedule setup, Panasonic and Fujitsu matched early in the season and of course the game still had a playoff atmosphere.

Fujitsu received the ball first, but the defense of Panasonic forced an early three and out.
After the Impulse took over, they had no problem moving the ball right down the field to score.
WR Tonka took a handoff on a sweep and ran 42 yards to get to the 2 yard line.
Fujitsu came up with a big goal line stand to force the Impulse to settle for a field goal.
On the next play, Fujitsu returned a 97 yards kickoff for a touchdown which was their only score of the half.
The Impulse led 10-6 at halftime after RB Dupree went 64 yards down the sideline and RB Yokota finished the drive with a 2 yard run for the score.

The second half was truly a defensive battle.
K Saeki kicked a 32 yard field goal to give the Impulse a 13-6 lead midway through the third quarter.
QB Cameron under-threw his receiver and was intercepted by DB Saito.
Even with the short field, the Impulse couldn't capitalize as K Saeki came up short on a 52-yard field goal attempt.

The next score came as QB Cameron threw a 4-yard touchdown pass which resulted in Fujitsu’s only offensive score of the game which tied the game at 13.
Panasonic's CB Emory Polley had a late game interception to give the offense another chance to score but the offense couldn't capitalize.
The next score came on a strip sack that was returned 41 yards by Fujitsu to take the lead and score the game's final points.

Fujitsu won the game with a final score of 20-13.
The two dominant teams will probably meet again in the playoffs.
