5.15.2016 Panasonic IMPULSE vs Elecom Kobe Finies - Game Review

The Green Bowl got off to a slow start for the defending champions Panasonic Impulse.
With an early interception that gave Elecom great field position they were able to kick a field goal and take a 3-0 lead.
This would turn out to be the only points Elecom would manage to score.
The run game showed flashes from last year as Ben Dupree scored from 43 yards out.
Elecom did manage to complete a long pass but a forced fumble by defensive back Atsushi Tsuji and recovery by Koh Iwamoto gave the ball right back to the Impulse.
Superstar David Motu later picked off a pass and took it 57 yards for a score, which gave the impulse a 14-3 lead.
Kicker Eita Saeki nailed a 38-yard kick to put the Impulse up 17-3 going into the half.
The game became out of reach for Elecom when Takashi Ohara connected on a 59-yard touchdown pass to Tatsuya Tonka.
The defense stood their ground and didn’t allow any points in the second half.
The game was sealed when Shun Yokota broke a long touchdown run to give Panasonic a 31-3 lead as the Impulse won the title for the third straight year and 18th overall.

In a rematch of the Rice Bowl, Panasonic will face Ritsumeikan in the Kobe Bowl on June 5.
