The Panasonic IMPULSE Are 2-0 Following An Impressive Victory Versus The As One Black Eagles

The Panasonic IMPULSE defeated the As One BLACK EAGLES 50-0 on a nice day at Osaka’s EXPO Flash Field.

IMPULSE QB #8 Tetsuo “Iron Man” Takata kicked off Panasonic’s offensive scoring assault through the air, tossing a 22 yard touchdown pass to IMPULSE WR #1 Koji “Colonel” Honda in the first quarter.

In the second quarter, following a powerful 2 yard touchdown run by IMPULSE RB #39 Hayato “Keihan” Araki and a lightning strike 74 yard touchdown run by IMPULSE RB #24 Ben Dupree, Tetsuo once again took to the air, once again connecting with Honda on an 8 yard touchdown pass to put the finishing touches on a nice first half for the IMPULSE offense.

Exiting halftime with a 27-0 lead, the IMPULSE offense added a pair of field goals in the 3rd quarter followed by a thundering touchdown run by RB #41 Shunichi “Hankyu” Iwata, who was escorted into the end zone behind the escort blocking of IMPULSE OL/FB #78 Masahiro “BLACK” Asano, pushing the score up to 40-0 to finish the 3rd quarter.

After another successful IMPULSE field goal in the 4th quarter, IMPULSE QB #18 Takashi “Batman” Ohara capped off the offense’s scoring day after connecting on a 3 yard touchdown pass to WR #4 Koji “SMAP” Takagi. The IMPULSE offense amassed 524 total yards on the day, including 320 yards earned on the ground.

The Black Eagles had a tough day, as their offense was overwhelmed by the IMPULSE defense. The IMPULSE defense forced four turnovers, including a nice interception in the 4th quarter by IMPULSE DB #10 Emory Polley, his first interception with the team. IMPULSE defensive linemen #17 David Motu and #21 Carlton Jones also played well as both of them tallied a sack and were present in the BLACK EAGLES backfield throughout the day. The Black Eagles finished the day with a total of 76 yards on offense.

The IMPULSE are now 2-0 in 2015 as they get ready to take on their long time west division rival, the Asahi Challengers, on September 23rd. The Challengers are also 2-0 this season.
