The Panasonic IMPULSE Warmly Welcomes The Fuji Xerox J-STARS
To The X League's Top Division To Begin The 2015 X League Season

The Panasonic IMPULSE defeated the Fuji Xerox J-STARS 90-0 to begin play in the X League's West Division.

The rout was on from the first play, as #15 Tatsuya "Moss" Tonka returned the opening kickoff 97 yards to give the IMPULSE the team’s first points of the season. Following an interception on the opening play of the J-Star's first drive, the IMPULSE again wasted no time scoring, this time with a nice rushing touchdown by the team's new explosive American running back #24 Ben Dupree. IMPULSE QB #8 Tetsuo Takata finished off the quarter's scoring spree by adding a pair of touchdown passes, one to WR #80 Naohiko "Ikemen" Shibata and the other to WR #4 Koji "SMAP" Takagi.

Following two more quick scoring drives by the IMPULSE offense in the 2nd quarter, RB #24 Ben Dupree found a wand and his own bag of magic dust as he took a punt return 60 yards to the house in wizard-like fashion. However, the wizardry was just beginning, as Mr. Dupree returned yet another punt return for a touchdown on the team's next punt reception. Dupree finished the day with a total of four touchdowns, 2 rushing and 2 collected returning punts. Midway through the 2nd half, Dupree had shown enough magic for the IMPULSE to put him on ice for the rest of the night.

The IMPULSE's veteran quarterback Tetsuo also had a short night of work, as he completed each of his 6 passes for a total of 149 yards and 2 touchdowns. He was also placed on ice for the rest of the night midway through the 2nd quarter.

Offensively, the IMPULSE had a very impressive outing, racking up 427 yards total and 9 touchdowns against the J-STARS.

The IMPULSE's defense, led by their explosive and energetic DE #17 David Motu, also played well, limiting the J-STARS offense to a total of only 20 yards in a shutout effort. 2015 Japan National American Football Team selectee DB #12 Ryohei Imanishi and DB #32 Yuya "Mike Lowrey" Washino each pulled in an interception, and the defense added three sacks to the defensive stat sheet to finish the night strong on defense.
