MNO Series IGMP Snooping Setting Procedure
Introduction This setting example explains the IGMP Snooping setup for MNO series switches.
Applicable models
Overview Set up MNO series switches so that IGMP Snooping is used, and from multicast transmission terminals, multicast is only transferred to terminals requesting multicast.
Configuration Example

Setting Flow (1) Connect to Web management screen of Switch-M24PWR. (2) Setup Switch-M24PWR. 1) Enable IGMP Snooping. 2) Enable multicast filtering. 3) Add IGMP to the detected packets at the router port. (3) Connect the multicast transmission terminal to the L3 Ethernet switch, the multicast requesting and non-requesting terminals to Switch-M24PWR. (4) When a multicast requesting terminal requests multicast, confirm that packets are only transmitted to requesting terminals and not to non-requesting terminals.
Setting Procedure
Step 1.Connect to the Web management screen of Switch-M24PWR and login. Connect the PC and Ethernet switch using a twisted pair cable and console cable, and connect to the Web management screen of Switch-M24PWR. (Refer to setting example "Connection Procedures to Ethernet switch Web Management Screen" for the procedure to connect to the Web management screen)

Step 2.Enable IGMP Snooping 1) Select “Advanced Config” -> ”IGMP Snooping” -> ”IGMP Snooping Config”((1) -> (2) -> (3)) 2) Change the IGMP Snooping Status to ”Enabled”((4)) 3) Apply the change by “Apply”((5))

Step 3.Enable multicast filtering 1) Change the Multicast Filtering Status to ”Enabled” ((1)) 2) Apply the change by “Apply” ((2))

Step 4.Add IGMP to the detected packets at the router port 1) Select items in “Router Port List” ((1)) 2) Change the Dynamic Detect Method to ”PIM, DVMRP, and IGMP Query” ((4)) 3) Apply the change by “Set” ((5))

Step 5.Save the settings 1) Select “System Tools” -> ”Save Current Config”. ((1) -> (2)) 2) Save the settings by “Save Current Config” ((3)) 3) Execute saving by “OK” ((4)) 4) Confirm that the settings are saved successfully ((5))

Step 6.Connect the devices Referring to the configuration example on page 1, connect the devices.
Step 7.Execute operation check Confirm that multicast requesting terminals can receive multicasts, while non-requesting terminals cannot.
Now the setup is complete.
