Brazil: First Eco Learning Program and hybrid car craft workshop
A Panasonic Kids School Eco Learning Program (ELP) and a hybrid car craft workshop was held at a Panasonic showroom in Sao Paulo, Brazil on August 9.
The event saw 20 children divided into two groups to first of all learn about global warming in the ELP session. The children showed great interest as they listened to the instructor, and were keen to raise their hands and offer their own input. Some of them spoke about things they had heard about the global environment from their parents and siblings.
This was followed by the hybrid car craft workshop. The younger participants (aged 7-8) required personal supervision from one assistant per child, but one member of staff per table was sufficient for the older children.
The children offered a variety of cute comments, including "I never expected to be able to make something so cool from this paper," "I don't really like cars normally, but I do like this car," and "It's great to make a car out of paper! Where can you buy sets like this? I want to make another one at home."
Finally, the children were presented with hats that had been prepared as souvenirs. Their response to both the ELP and the hybrid car craft workshop was highly positive, and they all left with smiles on their faces at the end of the day.
Panasonic will continue to promote similar eco learning initiatives as the company seeks to become the No. 1 Green Innovation Company in the electronics industry.
