Japan: Zoom in Beauty winners participate in battery workshop
March 17, 2011
On March 3, the Energy Company received three winners of a Zoom in Beauty campaign planned and promoted by Panasonic Gobel Indonesia (PGI) and staff from magazine publishers. PGI has been running this campaign since September 2010 to improve the Panasonic brand image as a Green Innovation Company and a CSR-oriented company by widely enhancing the recognition of Panasonic corporate activities throughout Indonesia. On February 11, three winners were selected from among about 1,400 contestants, who consisted of general female consumers. The three winners visited Japan from March 2 to 10 to gather information about the Energy Company, the Panasonic Eco Technology Center, the 'eco ideas' House, and the Panasonic Center Tokyo as reporters.
The Energy Company hosted a battery classroom and workshop for the contest winners together with students of Furuichi Minami Elementary School in Habikino, Osaka. The three participants stated, "I was surprised to find out that a battery is packed with so many eco-friendly ideas," "This was really a good experience," and "I want to convey my experience to children in Indonesia." School teachers mentioned, "I gained valuable experience," and Japanese pupils said, "I became interested in Indonesia," and "I was able to learn about the Indonesian language and national flag."
This event will be featured on PGI's and other websites and in magazines in Indonesia to raise the profile of Panasonic's eco-friendly activities, and will be also aired on Panasonic Channel, the company's video site.
